Freud was so right

There are definitely multiple parts of my brain. And one of them is saying, over and over again:

"Be cool. Be cool. Be cool be cool be cool be cool be cool. Rock star. Rock star. Cool. Shades. Wearing shades and playing saxophone. But not in a dorky way. Okay, that's dorky no matter what, fuck that. Something cool. I wish I knew what cool was, you're on your own here, Chester, listen to 'Abbey Road' again if you have to, if that's even cool anymore, just be cool. Be cool. Be cool. Be cool."

I guess that's the superego?

Then there's this other part that is going like this:

"OH MY GOD THIS IS A CRISIS WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH SOMEBODY FEED ME STRAINED BANANAS HOLY SHIT JUST BE HONEST JUST SAY SOMETHING JUST SAY IT SAY IT YOU HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING, IT'S BUGGING YOU, LISTEN, PEOPLE ARE DOGS, SOME PEOPLE ARE ALPHAS AND SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO, WHO CARES IF ONCE AGAIN YOU RUIN EVERYTHING, THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE, YOU ARE THIS PERSON, YOU ARE THIS DOG! BE IT!"

I'm fairly sure this is the id.

The ego is something else, I don't know, it's probably chanting something too but right now this is all I can hear. If I look dazed or stupid it is because I have two psychological constructs shouting at me constantly, one in each ear, so please cut me some slack.

Thanks.

When I open my mouth and a cloud of nonsensical word-dust comes out, this is why: I'm trying to serve two masters. I can't just become a dog-beast and Lord knows I'll never be cool. So everything I do is a compromise. Everything I say is negotiated over a round table at a summit in my head between a rabid hyenaman and Colin Powell. I just want the hyenaman to tear out Colin Powell's throat, or for Colin Powell to levy sanctions against the hyenaman until he starves to death. Please, will one of you guys sprout a sack and take the other one out, because I don't know who I should listen to. And it's TIRING.
